2026 // WEEK 1 // PREACHBOT’S WAR ROOM

WEEKLY BATTLE
BREAKDOWNS

Five battles. FTSB numbers. One Direwolf. PreachBot breaks down who has the edge, who has the upset path, and who is already staring at the Sewer drain.

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK // #2 vs #8 IRON THRONE INDEX

PREACH vs JP

FTSB: PREACH -36.5

PREACH -385 // JP +300

Preach has spent the offseason doing what Preach does best: talking like the crown has already been fitted. This is the year all of that shit-talk finally has to become evidence. The roster looks capable of backing him up — Hurts and Caleb at quarterback, Taylor and King Henry in the backfield, and enough depth to enter Week 1 as one of the four crown contenders. JP actually believes Preach is good enough to win it all; he would simply enjoy nothing more than being the first person to punch a hole in the prophecy. The trade receipt sits directly in the middle of the matchup: Preach acquired Hurts while Kyler and Darnold went to JP, and Henry now faces the manager who could not get him a crown last year. JP still has Lamar, Kyler and Bowers, so the Sewer rat has enough firepower to make a 36-point spread uncomfortable.

PREACHBOT CALL: Preach. The shit-talking officially becomes evidence in Week 1.

#10 vs #5 IRON THRONE INDEX // SEWER vs THE HUNT

HOULE vs BUG

FTSB: BUG -26.5

BUG -245 // HOULE +200

Houle did not stumble into the Sewer — he made a deliberate bet on getting out of it. He first sent DeVonta Smith to Preach for a 2027 first, then turned around and dealt his 2026 first plus two 2027 firsts to Bru for Bru’s 2026 first, pulling premium value forward and helping put himself in position for Jeremiyah Love. He still owns five 2027 second-round picks, so the cupboard is not empty, and Love, Fernando Mendoza and Tet McMillan give him legitimate young upside. The problem is the bridge roster: Rodgers, Deebo, Pitts and Kirk Cousins leave plenty of ways for this to get old in a hurry. Bug enters as the clear favorite and once again as the league’s perennial bridesmaid. With the $1,000 bet with Preach coming due this season, respectable is no longer enough. Bug has to shit or get off the pot.

PREACHBOT CALL: Bug. Houle made his move to escape the Sewer, but Week 1 may show how far the climb still is.

#9 vs #1 IRON THRONE INDEX // SEWER vs CROWN CONTENDER

BRU vs BEANS

FTSB: BEANS -16.5

BEANS -175 // BRU +145

This has the potential to become an absolute slaughter. Bru still has nuclear weapons in Josh Allen and Justin Jefferson, with Joe Burrow giving him another path to an explosion, but the roster thins out quickly after the stars. Per usual, he remains all-in on Vikings energy and may spend 2026 less focused on escaping the Sewer than on dragging somebody else down into it. His offseason also told the story: while Houle pulled premium capital into 2026, Bru pushed value toward 2027 and stacked future firsts. Beans is playing for now. The Cowboys obsession remains part of his DNA, but the real concern is mileage — McCaffrey, Kittle and Godwin are carrying older, beat-up bodies. If those bodies hold together, Beans is No. 1 on the Iron Throne Index for a reason and has a legitimate shot at becoming the league’s first three-belt king.

PREACHBOT CALL: Beans. Bru needs Allen and Jefferson to turn a projected execution into a street fight.

#7 vs #3 IRON THRONE INDEX // THE LAST TWO CHAMPIONS

DRAG vs CHAN

FTSB: CHAN -21.5

CHAN -200 // DRAG +165

The Dragon meets the reigning king. Drag won the belt in 2024, Chan took the crown in 2025, and they enter 2026 headed in very different directions. Drag’s roster is in a world of hurt: Patty is coming back from injury, Jalen Warren as RB2 leaves almost no margin for error, Mike Evans begins another annual attempt to survive the substation, and Vice President Mark Andrews once again needs to show up for duty. Chan has questions of his own — whether Breece Hall is happy, what becomes of Puka, and whether David Montgomery can truly become a leading back in Houston — but Chappetto’s advantage is depth. One bad answer does not sink the roster. That is why Chan sits with the crown contenders while the Dragon begins the season in the Sewer trying to prove the old fire is still there.

PREACHBOT CALL: Chan. The former king still has weapons; the reigning king has the army.

#4 vs #6 IRON THRONE INDEX // THE GATOR FROM THE NORTHLAND vs THE SEA SNAKE

BDR vs TRES

FTSB: BDR -10.5

BDR -145 // TRES +125

The Gator from the Northland meets the Sea Snake in the most interesting number on the Week 1 board. Preach has been vocal for months about Tres’ quarterback room, and that remains the pressure point: C.J. Stroud has to give the Sea Snake enough stability for the rest of a solid roster to matter. BDR, meanwhile, owns one of the deepest collections in the league — Gibbs, Hampton, London, Rice, Olave, Nabers and Egbuka give him multiple ways to win without needing everything to hit at once. The roster has also developed a full-on Bad Boys identity, with Jacobs, Rice and Judkins providing enough off-field chatter to keep the imaginary FTSB legal department on retainer. If Nabers is healthy and Egbuka takes another step, BDR belongs with the four crown contenders. He is better than Tres. The only question is whether he is really eleven points better.

PREACHBOT CALL: BDR wins. DIREWOLF OF THE WEEK: TRES +10.5. The Sea Snake keeps it closer than FTSB’s opening number.

FTSB // LINES MAY MOVE

Waivers, injuries and lineup decisions can move the board before kickoff. PreachBot’s calls are the opening verdicts, not sacred text.
