THE WEEKLY RAVEN // WEEK 4
WHEN IS THE SEASON WITCHING HOUR?
When wins become playoff spots and losses become locked-in reservations for Dinner with Schmucks.
PREACHBOT: Season 11–4 SU · 8–7 ATS · 1–2 Direwolf
There comes a point every fantasy season when the standings stop looking temporary.
Wins start becoming playoff spots. Losses start becoming reservations for Dinner with Schmucks.
Four men will eventually descend into the Sewer. Those four will sit around the same table at season’s end, break bread, look at the other three idiots sitting across from them, and wonder: When exactly did this become inevitable?
Week 4 might be the Season Witching Hour. Preach and Gator can leave Sunday 4–0. Houle can fall to 0–4. Five houses enter at 1–2, where a victory means .500 and life while another loss puts the Sewer firmly on the horizon.

🐺 DIREWOLF OF THE WEEK: DRAG +4.5 vs BDR
⭐ MATCHUP OF THE WEEK: HERM vs BUG
THE EXTERMINATION GAME
Forget the records for a second. These two genuinely want to beat each other.
Bug has spent years tossing little jabs across the realm. Herm would like nothing more than to finally squash the Bug and shut him up for a week. Now both enter 1–2.
Bug’s roster is much better than its record. Goff and Nix lead a lineup with Kenneth Walker, Chuba Hubbard, Chase Brown, Amon-Ra, Christian Watson and Waddle. Herm counters with Lamar, Kyler, Davante and Bowers and enough young ammunition to make this uncomfortable.
FTSB: Bug -8.5 · SU: Bug · ATS: Herm +8.5
One rival wakes up Monday 2–2. The other wakes up 1–3. Someone’s getting squashed.
🐉 DRAG vs BDR
CAN THE GATOR SURVIVE MAHOMES WEEK?
BDR is 3–0 and has earned it. Drag is 2–1 and brings the weapon capable of blowing up virtually any fantasy projection: Patrick Mahomes.
Can BDR survive Mahomes Week if this happens to be one of them? And can Drag survive his own injury problems with Baker Mayfield out and Mike Evans still a situation to monitor?
BDR still has Gibbs, Bucky, Olave, London, Rashee Rice and Nabers. PreachBot won’t pick against the undefeated Gator outright, but this is precisely what the Direwolf was built for.
FTSB: BDR -4.5 · SU: BDR · ATS: Drag +4.5
🐺 DIREWOLF: DRAG. If Mahomes goes nuclear, the Direwolf has an outright-upset path.
👶 BEANS vs TRES
BABY WATCH CONTINUES
No baby yet. Which means Beans apparently remains free to dedicate his full attention to destroying Shy City opponents before fatherhood intervenes.
Purdy. Dak. CMC. James Cook. CeeDee. Zay. Pickens. Kittle. Tres finally escaped 0–2 last week and enters at 1–2 with a chance to drag himself back to .500. The problem is the opponent.
FTSB: Beans -10.5 · SU: Beans · ATS: Beans -10.5
Win and Tres is 2–2. Lose and he’s 1–3, and suddenly last week’s victory looks less like a turnaround and more like delaying the inevitable. The pillory remains in storage. Dinner reservations remain available.
🇺🇸 PREACH vs HOULE
TABLE FOR ONE?
There really isn’t much intrigue here. Preach enters 3–0. Houle enters 0–3.
The current projection: PREACH 153.7 — HOULE 118.8. That’s a 34.9-point projected ass-kicking before kickoff. We’re showing restraint with the line.
FTSB: Preach -24.5 · SU: Preach · ATS: Preach -24.5
DINNER WITH SCHMUCKS
Party: Houle
Expected arrival: December
Reservation status: We’re calling ahead.
An 0–4 start doesn’t mathematically put anyone in the Sewer. But the maître d’ should probably learn his name.
🐻 BRU vs CHABBY
COLLEGE ROOMMATES. OLD RIVALS.
Former University of Minnesota roommates now meet across the fantasy battlefield. Bru carries the Vikings banner. Chabby carries Chicago. Vikings vs Bears. Bru vs Chabby. Both enter 1–2.
Chabby remains beat to hell, but reinforcements may finally be coming. Puka and Nico are progressing toward potential returns, which would dramatically change the lineup we’ve watched stagger through the opening weeks.
Bru has his own concerns with Justin Jefferson’s ankle and Caleb Williams’ hamstring. Fortunately, Allen and Burrow remain the backbone.
FTSB: Chabby -3.5 · SU: Chabby · ATS: Bru +3.5
Whoever loses wakes up 1–3. Nothing like watching your former college roommate push your chair a little closer to the Sewer.
🚑 THURSDAY RAVEN INJURY WATCH
- 🔴 Caleb Williams — Bru: Hamstring. Missed Week 3 and remains a major availability concern.
- 🔴 Baker Mayfield — Drag: Thumb injury. Drag should plan without him this week.
- 🔴 Justin Jefferson — Bru: Ankle. One of the week’s most important lineup watches.
- 🟡 Mike Evans — Drag: Rib injury. Friday status matters.
- 🟡 Lamar Jackson — Herm: Back issue. Monitor through the final report.
- 🟡 Bucky Irving — BDR: Glute issue. Monitor into the weekend.
- 🟡 Zay Flowers — Beans: Hamstring. Worth monitoring, but currently less alarming than the red-group situations.
- 🟢 Puka Nacua — Chabby: Trending toward a return.
- 🟢 Nico Collins — Chabby: Trending toward a return after missing two games.
🕯️ THE WITCHING HOUR
Nobody knows exactly when a fantasy season stops being young. But eventually wins become playoff spots. Losses become Sewer reservations. And four unfortunate men realize they’re no longer fighting for the belt — they’re deciding who’s picking up the check at Dinner with Schmucks.
Week 4 may be that hour.
